WBTC Club Meetings

The next club meeting will be a virtual (Zoom) meeting at 6:30pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The Zoom meeting link will be sent in an email with the agenda.

Conformation: WBTC will hold its annual back-to-back Regional Specialties on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Monroe County Fairgrounds in Monroe, MI. Breed Judges are Alleyne Dickens and Shawn Petersen. Sweeps Judge is Ann MacKay. See the Regional Specialty page for more info.

Sanctioned B/OB Match: The Sanctioned “B” Match was held on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the home of Owen & Sandy Deatrick in Mason, MI. Beautiful day in beautiful gardens with beautiful dogs and beautiful food!

Agility: WBTC is holding several AKC Agility Trials in 2025 at the TNT Dog Center in Midland, MI, including:

Nov 2024: Mary Byrkit & Folly earned their Agility PACH title at the Canine Combustion Dog Agility Club Trial in Ann Arbor, MI.

Oct 2024: Sherry Ecker & Grace earned their Agility NA and NAJ titles, finishing Novice Standard with 3 out of 3 qualifying scores and Novice Jumpers with 3 out of 4 qualifying scores.

Sep 2023: Karen Erzen & Ohana earned their Agility MACH9 at the Greater Toledo Obedience Training Club Trial in Sylvania, OH.

Aug 2023: Two members received invitations to the 2023 AKC Obedience Classic in Orlando, FL, in December 2023 - Sherry Ecker & Grace and Karen Johnson & Ender.

Aug 2023: Owen Deatrick & Ink earned their Agility MACH2 title at the Northern Michigan Agility Club Trial in Midland, MI.

Jul 2023: Two members received invitations to the 2023 AKC Agility Invitational in Orlando, FL, in December 2023 - Sandy Deatrick & Legend, who finished #1 Terv and Nancy Brissette & Vibe, who finished #3 Belgian Sheepdog.

Jul 2023: Jane Kaminski, Sean Oberski & Lance went Reserve Winner Dog at both of the WBTCSM Regional Specialties in Monroe, MI.

Jun 2023: Karen Johnson & Ender earned their Rally Champion (“RACH”) title, along with Rally titles RAE#2 and Master#2 the same weekend.

May 2023: Kim Cassida & Parker went High Combined on Sheep and earned their ATD title on Ducks at the SEMASA Great Lakes Special Stockdog Trial at Sheepsmith Farm in Pinckney, MI. At the ABTC Regional and National Specialties in South Sioux City, NE, Parker finished her CDX at the Regional and got a bumper leg at the National, winning both classes. She also picked up her first RAE leg at the National and got class placements at Regional and Working Sweeps. Riva won all three of her conformation classes over the week and took a third place for her first RN leg at National.

May 2023: At the ABTC Regional Specialty in South Sioux City, NE, Owen Deatrick & Ink went Select Dog and Reacher won his class. Sandy Deatrick & NotNot made the final cut.

May 2023: Moe Foley & Tug earned their VST title, which gave them the Champion Tracker (“CT”) title, at the Marshbanks Golden Retriever Club VST Trial in Spring Arbor, MI.

Apr 2023: Sandy Deatrick & Legend earned their Agility MACH5 title at the Midland Michigan KC Trial in Midland, MI.

Apr 2023: Karen Johnson & Ender earned their Obedience CDX title at the Obedience Training Club of Greater Lansing in 3 straight trials. Ender has also earned several Rally titles this year, including Rally Advanced, Excellent, Master and RAE.

Mar 2023: At the Lousiville cluster, including the OVBTC Regional Specialty, Kim Cassida & Parker won Open A twice for her first 2 CDX legs and was high scoring Terv at both regional specialty and supported show. She won RWB on Saturday and WB for 5 points on Sunday. Riva earned her first ribbons at Louisville, including a major reserve.

Feb 2023: Sandy Deatrick & Legend finished the year as the #1 Belgian Tervuren in AKC Agility for 2022.

Dec 2022: Sandy & Owen Deatrick’s NotNot earned his AKC Championship at the Ingham Co KC show in East Lansing, MI.

Oct 2022: Moe Foley & Tug earned the Herding Advanced A Course on Ducks title and the Obedience UD and Graduate Open titles.

Sep 2022: Moe Foley & Tug won the Herding Started “D” course and went High in Trial at the All-Breed Herding Club of Lower Michigan Trial.

Sep 2022: Mary Byrkit & Folly earned their Agility MACH title at the Ann Arbor Dog Training Club Trial in Ann Arbor, MI.
